The ocean

Just tweeted a video of the incredible destruction in Japan. It is truly, disarmingly horrifying to watch. I wanted to share it here along with a few quick thoughts.

There is no shortage of suffering to go around in the world — certainly Japan is not alone in experiencing the terrible effects of a powerful tsunami, not even in recent memory. But that doesn’t make the images less vivid or the human cost less difficult to accept.

As cliché as it might be to say it now, events like this tsunami and its devastation really do make matters both personal and business-related seem rather unimportant.
